UNREAL candy {giveaway}

UNREAL has created America’s first widely available unjunked candy. Their products are all natural candies that contain no corn syrup, artificial ingredients, colors, or preservatives, no hydrogenated oils, and are non-GMO. They have all natural colors: red from beet juice, blue from purple cabbage, and orange from achiote seed. Natural beeswax and carnauba wax give our gems their UNREAL shine. Our chocolate contains twice the cacao of market leaders, on average per serving.

My family and I recently had the opportunity to try some of UNREAL’s new products! I’m always up for a new choice in candy or something sweet…especially if it’s all natural! I did have a hard time finding the candies. We visited 5 different CVS, Walgreens and Michael’s locations and finally found a CVS close by with some in stock. Most of the other places only had the larger sizes instead of the one-person-size.

We chose to purchase a couple more to give them a good try and what we got was all 3 flavors that were there…UNREAL 54 (candy coated chocolates with peanuts), UNREAL 5 (chocolate nougat caramel bar) and UNREAL 8 (chocolate caramel peanut nougat bar). They all just so happened to be similar to the other yummy stuff-that’s bad for you-that I like.

I liked each one of them, they weren’t too sweet, but filling of the dessert/snack need. My most favorite was UNREAL 54 and UNREAL 5 & 8 were okay. My hubby is pretty picky about his food, and doesn’t like healthy stuff, but he enjoyed them. The only thing that threw me off, was the different BUT fun & colorful shells on the candy coated chocolates with peanuts. Also, UNREAL 5 & 8 were of a different consistency & texture to the other yummy stuff-that’s bad for you-that I like, which provided my craving for the bars. They all tasted good, not great enough for me to make the change from my usual favorites.

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty…after comparing calories, sugar, fat, etc…there didn’t seem to be that big of a change for me. All candy isn’t good for you, but is best consumed in moderation. Those with allergies to certain ingredients or medical diagnosis that don’t allow certain foods, I’ve heard these do wonders!
