Little Bear Bums Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway {CLOSED}

I had been researching how to cloth diaper my son and have seen all the different types of cloth diapers out there. I ran across Little Bear Bums. My initial thought was, “WOW! they look really different from regular pocket diapers I was interested in”, but I decided to contact them to review them because I was curious of how they worked. I had not yet started using cloth diapers at ALL, but I wanted to try EVERYTHING!

I gotta say, I LOVE working with Addie & Amy! They were so KIND and GENEROUS and helped me through the entire process (sort of…they didn’t wash and diaper the kid). They GENEROUSLY sent me 3 of their Unbleached Fitted’s in size 2.

Before receiving them, they asked me if I had ever used cloth before. My reply, “Um, No” but I really wanted to get started. Their diapers require a cover and they gave me their EXPERT recommendation. I happily took their advice of using Thirsties since it was economical. They also gave me some recommendations on laundry detergent. Thanks to their help, now I’m set to see how their dipes work.

I was so excited to receive them and start using them. I washed them up and put them in the covers and started using them. (I had about a week delay in using them because I was waiting on my covers to come in the mail…my fault.)

Since my son goes to daycare during the day, I first put him in one for night time. When reviewing the diapers, I like to try them and I don’t send them to daycare. I WANT to know how they work. The night worked PERFECT!! NO leaks and I didn’t even have to add an insert. I like to test to see how little extras I have to add. I was SO pleased. I tried them at night for a couple of days.

THEN the weekend came and I was excited to use them during the day. Since they were leak free during the night, it was a NO brainer that they wouldn’t leak during the day. I have to say though, I tested that diaper to see how long it could go without leaking. For my son, it as about 4hours AND my kids typically have sippy’s with them at ALL times (bad I know, currently trying to break that and limit them).

Some info about the dipes:

Our Unbleached Indian Cotton fitteds are super adjustable and easy to use!  Simply use a Snappi or pins to secure, and make sure to use a cover.  We didn’t add any closures on these diapers, because it allows for a better fit as your little one grows. 

Our diapers come in 2 sizes:  Size 1 (fits from 7-15 lbs) and Size 2 (fits from 15-30 lbs).  Our sizing is approximate.  We have found that some 18 month old children can get a better fit with the smaller size, while some 12 month old children do better in a larger size that has been folded down once.  If you prefer a low rise on an older child, then the smaller size may be right for you. 

What I LOVE about this diaper?I LOVE that it is unique (at least to me). I LOVE the design. I LOVE that it is different from my pocket dipes that I have now because if I want to change it up I CAN! I also like the bunching part in the middle of the diaper, it makes it easier to get the nasty poo out (and fling it at unsuspecting bystanders…just kidding).

DRAWBACKS: It is a little bit bulky, so it may not fit you kiddos pants very well…HOWEVER, I LOVE that my son’s bum looks bulky…it just shows that I cloth diaper AND I’m PROUD of it!
