I recently contacted SodaStream to see if they would give me the opportunity to review their Fountain Jet soda maker. They happily said yes and are letting me host a giveaway. Double YAY!!! I wanted to try it for a few reasons…It looks cool, it’s eco-friendly and I hate buying soda – so we rarely have it in the house. However, we LOVE soda and hubby is constantly asking for it at home. Hubby had no idea that we were receiving it. So when he was working from home one day, he received a “Soda Club” package. Not knowing what it was he immediately called me and I explained it to him. He was sooo excited he wanted to use it right away. Luckily he waited until I got home from work and I set it up.

It was SUPER simple to set up. You should read the directions though. Basically you take it out of the package, take the back cover off and insert the CO2 cartridge. There is some screwing and tightening to be done along the way. I was very careful to put this thing together because I’ve read other reviews and just didn’t want to screw it up. Not like they did, but I didn’t want to break it or anything or have something happen to the CO2. We filled up one of the bottles with water and stuck it in the freezer for about 5 minutes to “chill” the water. We then stuck the bottle up in the screw hole, except THIS is the part that Id didn’t read fully. We didn’t screw the bottle in all the way and it started spewing when we pressed the button down for the carbonation. THEN we realized we had to screw it in all the way…dummy us! After that little mishap, we were good to go AND have been making great soda SINCE!
Hubby’s favorite flavor so far is the cola and I like root beer. They have ALL kinds of flavors of soda like Orange, Pete’s Choice (Dr.Pepper), Lemon Lime (Spite/7-up), Pink Grapefruit (Fresca), EVEN an Energy flavor (Red Bull). They also have flavors to just add to water to make it flavored water instead of soda.

Wanna know the BEST part…it’s SOOO amazing! There are NO batteries, or electricity to keep this thing running. Which is very convenient in that I can stick it in the kitchen anywhere and not have worry if there is an electrical outlet anywhere. I just have to keep it away from the stove or anything that generates warmth.
Now for some solid FACTS:
With a SodaStream soda maker, you’ll transform ordinary water into the freshest and best-tasting seltzer and soda anytime, at the touch of a button, with no clean-up.
Now, you can enjoy the best tasting soda on the planet … and it’s as easy as making coffee! ß- For me it’s easier than making coffee!
- Save space with concentrated sodamix and reusable carbonating bottles
- No more lugging and storing heavy, bulky bottles and cans
- No more hassles with empties in the trash or recycling bin
- No batteries, no electricity, no plumbing
- Over 30 flavors at the touch of a button
- BPA Free
On average, the carbonator will make 60 or 110 liters of seltzer or soda, depending on the size you have. This number could be more or less depending on the amount of carbonation used when making your drink. A household of four soda drinkers might need to replace a 110-liter carbonator every 3-4 months, and a 60-liter carbonator every 6-8 weeks, depending on usage.
Regular sodamix flavors contain less sugar, calories, carbohydrates and sodium than national drink brands. Regular flavors are sweetened with a combination of sugar and Splenda® brand sweetener. Diet sodamix flavors contain no sugar, no aspartame and are sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener.
It is so COOL that we can make our own soda! Hubby gives it TWO thumbs up!
