I’ve got a confession to make. My husband does most of the laundry. And when I say most, it means the simple part. He doesn’t stain treat, clean the pee sheets from my 4yo and so on. While it is a great help, I’m still on the lookout to clean, soften & brighten our clothes.

I also have another confession to make. I had never heard of Borax until a couple months ago, even then I didn’t know the purpose of it. Simply…it’s a great detergent booster. Add a 1/2 cup to a load along with your normal Purex detergent and you are set to go! And since we have wicked hard water and no water softener in the house we rent, 20 Mule Team Borax is a wonderful laundry booster and helps remove stains.

One thing I’ve noticed since living in this house we rent, is how bad we have hard water. We have to use special dishwasher liquids to clean it very frequently and now we do specially wash the washing machine every couple months. With the Borax, I’m looking forward to de-junking a lot of my shirts. As you can totally see the deodorant building up on my darker shirts around the arm pits.
